Evidence of Russian Hacking

In the electoral electrical system.

That’s big time. Good thing it was discovered. I wonder what’s floating around the utilities‘ cyberstructure that hasn’t been discovered.

Resilience, folks. Are you prepared to go without power for a few days, at least? More?

2016 was not without excitement, at home and abroad. Who bets that 2017 will be that and more?

Oh– and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Funny how in 2015 it was reported that Russia had hacked both the White House and Dept of State and not much was done in retaliation. Then the DNC gets hacked and President Obama decides to retaliate. Nothing at the DNC should be classified, but now it’s a problem.

Doubtful this incident was a power grid „hack“. Malware on a laptop. Which, I would venture to say, is likely a common thing. Are the Russkies and the Wily Chinee in the power grid ICS and SCADA? Count on it. Have been for years. Several generations ahead of any hope of network defenses or attribution. And oh, by the way…

Smartest way to win a cyberwar? Write the information down, convey by courier, and burn the paper after.

MDL is spot on though: when these hacks were attacks on America, crickets. When the DNC’s dirty laundry was aired, RUSSIA! & TRUMP! TRUMPUTIN!!!!
