(Finally!)
Mark down Sunday, 9 July, on your calendars:
On July 9, 2017, the National Museum of the Marine Corps will open a new Marine Corps Combat Art Gallery. The gallery will feature changing exhibitions of the Museum’s combat art collection.
The first exhibition in the gallery, Honor, Courage, Commitment: Marine Corps Art, 1975-2015, honors Marines who have served in the Corps during the last 40 years and echoes the core values of the Marine Corps: honor, courage, and commitment. One hundred works of art by 22 artist[s] are divided among three themes.
The exhibit will be on display until April 2018. Come visit!
Admission to the Museum and parking are FREE!
I expect there will be some great works on display. You really should go see it; it’s worth the drive to get there.
Doug Doerr ’79 is a docent at the Mueseum.
