First point, in „case“– GET IT, „CASE“??– you need more ammo, and of course you do, Brownells is having a most lovely bulk ammo sale.
The second point is considerably more sobering, coming from a link at Survival Blog, with the note to read the first three posts under this thread. NEVER fire „warning shots“ or „disabling shots“. I don’t mean to criticize unduly this good man who was simply trying to protect his family, but all of the instruction I have gotten indicates that firing anything other than a shot to stop the bad man from doing the bad thing is a waste of ammunition and displays a lack of resolve. Don’t do that. If you have to shoot, shoot like you mean it.
On a related note, and a very good step in the right direction, here’s a report on ordinary folks getting trained on trauma first aid. You do carry a tourniquet and at least one IBD, right?
